This is the story of the genesis and work of The Silver Lining Foundation whose raison d’être stems from the untimely death by suicide of a young 16-year-old teenager. His mother, Katherine Kazanjian, relates the heart-breaking ordeal and the journey to turn this tragedy into an avenue to help other young LGBTQ people. One such avenue is the peer support group started by the Foundation — of which this film borrows its title. Head Counsellor at the University of the West Indies and close Foundation ally, Dr. Sarah Chin Yuen Kee, talks about the dynamics of the group from a mental health perspective.
